Random sketch spawns beginning of new piece I'm actually very excited because I finally found a writing tool that I can sketch the basic design on my boards - a good old Bic felt tip marker Now just so you all understand I always start with the background part of my paintings. It usually takes quite a few days (and layers) to get the effect I'm looking for. Now once this part is accomplished I then try to rough sketch the design on top. Howeverrrrrrrr...........pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, chalk, grease pencil, & crayon won't write on my many layers of painted background. Now sharpie works just fine however the permanent part defeats sketch/re-sketch/erase/try again/sketch/adjust/re-sketch method of creating. Now my delightful little discovery of the versatile Bic felt tip marker made my day. I can sketch away AND actually see what I'm sketching AND if I'm not happy with it - a damp paper towel wipes it away. Things like this are what make me happy And baby bunnies in my yard....they're so frickin cute! Finally finished a few pieces! Thought I'd share She needs a name tho (for some weird reason I like to give my abstracts people names) I'm leaning towards Lola And remember these little guys?! And finally....this is the second version of this flower. The first started out as a painted "sketch" but I liked it so much I needed to do it on board |
